Stan Kuiperi is a professional Aruban visual artist/educator with an international career.
He is a pioneer in abstract painting in Aruba, and his works have explored the Aruban landscape in a unique and historic way, raising awareness about Aruba’s natural environment and cultural heritage. Next to his extensive former teaching career, he has had more than sixty group and individual art shows locally and internationally since the 1980’s, including five international art biennial exhibitions.
Stan Kuiperi is a founder of several arts organizations, including the recent Artviews Aruba, an online art-writing project to critique and explain contemporary visual art to an often
bewildered public.
His work has been widely published, he has been a recipient of several awards and grants, and he has received the Dutch Royal Knighthood Order of Orange-Nassau for his continued contributions to the arts and art education.
His latest work ‘Time for Earth’ will be included in the Cathedral of Thorns project in Curacao, opening coming 02.02.2020. He will be presenting at here at Uniarte on Monday, February 3, and sharing ideas about, among others, the arts and other hopefully interesting themes.
Hope to see you Monday!
